I'm afraid the exact same thing is going to happen after a couple of hours.ĮDIT 2: Scrap that, I rebooted the netgear (with a 30 sec wait) to check if everything saved correctly and it would still work if for some reason the router would reboot etc. I'm just going to see for how long I can keep it running but I still have no clue what caused it to lose the connection to my modem and what made it able to connect again after a reset (I done the reset multiple times last night but it didn't fix it then). But I decided to do a 30/30/30 reset on my Netgear and then only disabled the WAN and DHCP server. I still can't figure out if that's my netgear (I don't see how it could be). I'll report back soon! Can you ping the 3700 from the desktops? Can you ping the modem? Can you ping a known good external ip address (8.8.8.8 is one I use)? If all that works, then try pinging - failure would then suggest you have a DNS issue, etc. You might want to try the older version and report back with details if it fails. My take from following the Forum, specifically for the WNDR3700, is that R21676 is the best beta version. You are using the latest beta version of DD-WRT (r22118) which seems to be less stable than some earlier versions. PS I'm fairly new to all this stuff so some stuff I'm saying is probably obvious or I might be missing obvious stuff. I am now thinking of going back to stock firmware and reflashing it to DD-WRT as my last resort. It also does seem to be detected by the router (hence the slow blinking led), but I am not actually getting any IP's from it's DHCP. The cable works fine (modem/router -> laptop gives no issues). I just can't really seem to get anything from my modem/router anymore. I've done a couple of hard (30/30/30) resets and reconfigured the router. The led of the lan port on the netgear is slowly blinking (every 5 seconds or so), I'm not sure what that means. Probably because I wasn't getting a dynamic IP anymore from the modem/router. I think it's noteworthy that when it stopped I also couldn't get access anymore to the WAP (the netgear).

I've since then spent about 4 hours trying to figure out what went wrong, why it stopped working and how to fix it. Out of nowhere the 2 desktops wired to it stopped having access to the internet. Fast forward 2-3 hours later it suddenly stopped working. The Netgear switched the connection perfectly and it was looking all good.
It went flawlessly, I had a shared SSID for my wireless connections. I then decided to make sure it's all configured properly and wanted to make a WAP from the netgear so the reception is better all around the house.

Anyway, after doing all the mandatory restarts, the router picked up the signal from the modem (this modem is actually more of a router) and sent it with full speed to the 2 desktops hooked up to it with cables. Could access the router with the new firmware, didn't see any signals at all that it went wrong (I'm still assuming I did it correctly). Which I thought I messed up but it seemed to work all fine after I was done flashing. I've flashed my Netgear WNDR3700v1 to the recommended version from the wiki ().
After extensive googling I saw somebody talking about DD-WRT. Tried different cables, tried to use the Netgear as switch by disabling dhcp and giving him a different IP. I could never get more than 10 Mbps from modem -> netgear. I recently received a new modem that didn´t seem to communicate well with my Netgear.
